It is... I mean, it's not exactly the same, but my father had a stroke and is in hospital since 2 days before Christmas, so he wasn't there at Christmas, neither at New Year's eve... and when my mother died, the first Christmas without her was really horrible... so yes... I can imagine it must be very depressing at such days... at least it was for us...
